I know there's a lot of debate about what exactly a 3D version of the Koch snowflake looks like, and for now here's my submission for consideration. I think it's more plausible than the small stellated dodecahedron:
[link]I know that maybe it should start with just a tetrahedron instead of what looks like two intersecting tetrahedra, but using a stellated octahedron was necessary to keep the six armed look from above (even though there's eight arms total). EDIT: Actually, thinking about it, you could argue that this does start with a single tetrahedron (iteration -1 in this case) because the pyramids emerging from the first tetrahedron appear smaller than the originals.
